Asbestos Removal Process

Planning requirements are key for the removal process as asbestos can differ greatly depending on the specific asbestos removal task, the type, location, quantity and condition of the asbestos containing material are all factors that are fundamental when undergoing any extraction.

Here at TDA our 5 main steps of asbestos removal are:

  1. Identification of asbestos
  2. Preparation of site
  3. Removal of asbestos
  4. Decontamination of site
  5. Waste disposal of asbestos

With these core elements our goal to clients are to provide and execute a safe professional and cost affective experience.

Asbestos Clearances

Asbestos clearances are a crucial component in any asbestos removal, friable and non-friable. Not completing a thorough asbestos clearance at the end of a removal may result in endangering and contaminating personal, plant & environment.

TDA have licenced asbestos assessors readily available to assist in providing a thorough examination of the removal sites as per the WHS Regulations. This requires that a person must hold an asbestos assessor licence to conduct the following:

  • Air monitoring for class A friable, Class B non-friable asbestos removal work
  • Clearance inspections for class A friable, Class B non-friable asbestos removal work
  • Issuing clearance certificates in relation to class A friable, Class B non-friable asbestos removal work
  • A licensed assessor can also carry out a number of other tasks including identifying asbestos, carrying out a risk assessment or reviewing an asbestos register
  • Respirator Fit Tests
